We get to play at some great venues… it’s one of the perks of this wonderful job and today was no exception. We were travelling to Chateau Cazanac, a fairytale castle that sits above a pretty medieval village, which sits above the fabulous Dordogne river in the heart of the Perigord Noir.
We were booked to play throughout the day… this usually means we’re on site for maybe 12 hours and generally it’s a whirl wid of activity!
We were booked to play during the wedding ceremony and also provide recorded music too. In addition we were providing recorded music during a rather special Chinese Tea ceremony and playing for the Champagne reception. Not forgetting recorded background music during the wedding breakfast and then the full party set in the evening… and a PA leave for a disco! Today was going to be a busy day for REPLAY.
We have a range of gear that allows us to move around a venue seamlessly. We used our battery powerered speaker during the Ceremony. We have a small cubed speaker that fitted nicely and invisibly in the Tea Ceremony room… and we plugged our ipad in here to allow the background music to play continuously during this segment. We installed our lighting into the party room and our PA under a shady tree beside the champange table so that we were ready for this segment of the day. (Once the Champagne set was over we moved the PA and instruments into the party room too) The battery powered speaker was moved into the banquet hall for background music and microphones made ready for speeches… and in between all of this we played!
The sun shone and the venue was picture perfect, the food was fabulous, the bride and groom could not have been more welcoming… we loved our day here and whilst folks partied until the early hours we slipped away just after midnight… but we knew we’d be back in the morning to collect the ‘disco’ gear.
